While still a year out from high school being in the 2029 class, there is already plenty to like from the game of Bryce Skemp. Playing with Wisconsin Attack, he was one of the most dominant players this past season on the GNBA at the 13U level.
The easiest thing to notice about Skemp on the court is his commanding size. There not many players in the eight-grade standing at 6’4” in addition to his strong build. Though his abilities on the court are much more than his physical tools. The center is a very aggressive interior player to both score and rebound the ball at an extremely high rate. Especially at the GNBA Championships back in June, he was playing with such a big motor outworking everyone around the paint to take over while leading his team to the gold championship game. Even through double teams, Skemp was finishing everything at the basket as well to going so aggressively at every rebound. He uses his size very well to create space around the basket powering through defenders and has good hands catching everything and finishing at a high percentage. As well to his interior play, he has also shown the development of an all-around game. He has shown the ability to handle the ball attacking the basket as well as a good passing ability.
While there is still a long way to go in the basketball career of Skemp, there is already plenty of like about his game early on.
