Trio of 2025 Commitments

Over the weekend, a trio of players from the 2025 class who played on the NY2LA Association this past season announced their college commitments. This included both Jax Abalos and Parker LePla on Friday followed up by Vincas Buzelis on Sunday.

Jax Abalos of Team M14 and Batavia High School (IL) made his commitment to Cornell of the Ivy League. Cornell is landing a 6’7” wing who is one of the top shooters in the entire Midwest region. Abalos chose Cornell over his other offers coming from Cal Poly, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, LeMoyne, North Dakota, Purdue Fort Wayne, among others. The commitment comes after he took an official visit to the New York school earlier this month.

Parker LePla, the 6’8” power forward of D Rice Elite and Goodrich High School (MI) is heading to University of Indianapolis. Over the course of the past couple seasons, LePla was one of the most dominant interior scorers on the NY2LA Association in addition to continuing to grow a perimeter game. He chose Indianapolis over offers from several other division two programs. This included Michigan Tech, Minnesota Duluth, Northwood University, and Saginaw Valley State. Indianapolis had just offered him earlier this month.

The third commitment came from Vincas Buzelis who made it to South Dakota. He was offered by the division one program following his breakout season with Full Package taking place at the end of July. As well to being one of the bouncier players in Illinois’, the 6’4” guard of Hinsdale Central High School (IL) is also a true three level scorer with an elite mid-range game.

As we get deeper into visit season and closer to the signing period, look for the commitments to only continue from the 2025 class.
