Leshawn Stowers Talks Miami (OH) Commitment

Over the past twelve months, Leshawn Stowers has been one of the fastest rising players in Illinois’ 2025 class picking up a lengthy list of division one offers. From all his options, the 6’5” guard of MidPro Academy and Peoria High School chose Miami of Ohio.

Stowers had also been offered by Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana State, IUPUI, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, UIC, Wyoming, among others. Miami of Ohio offered him back in June of this year.

“The thing I like about Miami is it felt like family soon as I stepped on campus,” Stowers said about choosing Miami of Ohio over all his other suitors. The commitment comes after he took a visit there at the end of August. “I loved the visit,” he said about his trip to the Oxford, Ohio campus. He had also recently visited Bradley, Purdue Fort Wayne, Southern Illinois, and Wyoming before making his commitment.

“I see myself fitting in good because I fit the play style perfect,” Stowers said about his future on suiting up for the MAC school. He brings a unique blend of tools at 6’5” in the backcourt as well to his powerful build.

From the MidPro Academy 2025 team, Braden Freeman also announced his commitment on Monday, picking Cal Poly. Also from the team, Matthew Zobrist committed to Bradley back in July.
