One of the fastest-rising players in the Midwest, Minneapolis (Minn.) Cretin Derham Hall 2027 small forward Ty Schlagel is starting to heat up on the recruiting trail. Following a promising summer, Schlagel now owns three Big Ten Conference scholarship offers from Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Iowa: “They have offered my two other teammates. I know they like to recruit Minnesota guys. They have a good connection with our high school program.”
Minnesota: “They’re the hometown team. It was cool to get that offer, because I’ve been cheering for them since I was young.”
Wisconsin: “Wisconsin is one of the best schools in the country and they have a very good basketball program. It was very exciting to get a top school like that.”
Iowa State and various Big Ten programs are expressing early interest in Schlagel going into his sophomore season. Going forward, Schlagel laid out his most important criteria when picking a school/basketball program.
“I would say just a program that has a good coaching staff and good stability,” he said. “A program that will help get me to the next level.”
Schlagel plays for Howard Pulley during the travel season.
