Braden Freeman Visits Cal Poly

One of the top available wing guards in Illinois’ 2025 class took an official visit out west over the weekend. Braden Freeman, a 6’6” senior of Moline High School and MidPro Academy went to Cal Poly.

“It was an amazing experience,” Freeman said about the visit. “I had never been out to California before, and it was awesome.” Freeman already holds an offer from the division one program, having been offered by them last month in early August. He has also been previously offered by Emporia State, Incarnate Word, Rockhurst University and University of Illinois Springfield.

When asked if there is anything he likes about Cal Poly, Freeman responded “The coaches, the environment, the style of play and the fact that I’d make an impact right away.” Cal Poly is a member of the Big West Conference.

“I probably will commit later just so that I see out all of my options,” Freeman said regarding his commitment timeline.

Freeman is a highly versatile player with good size on the wings at 6’6”. He is a skilled scorer who can score it from all three levels in addition to being able to defend both guards and forwards effectively. His recruitment greatly grew over his summer while picking up three scholarship offers. Freeman was a big part of the 2025 MidPro Academy team along with Dietrich Richardson, Leshawn Stowers, Matthew Zobrist, Kobe Walker, Trey Taylor, and others, who won the NY2LA championship at Summer Jam back in July.
