Recruitment of Chase Konieczny Continues To Pick Up

The recruitment for Chase Konieczny continues to pick up. Newest for the 6’4” senior shooting guard of South Bend Saint Joseph High School (IN) and Meanstreets was a visit to a Big 10 program as well as another visit which resulted in a scholarship offer.

First up for Konieczny was a visit to Iowa. “My visit to Iowa was great,” he first said about his trip to Iowa City. “I had the opportunity to watch a practice for about an hour and half and got to watch how hard they worked and how they played with such intensity. I met with Coach McCaffery for about thirty minutes with my parents and it was a great talk. Coach Dillard is going to come to South Bend and watch one of my open gyms soon.”

Following that, Konieczny then made a visit east to a Patriot League school. “My visit to Lehigh was awesome. I got to meet the coaching staff in person, and they were really nice and toured me around campus. Coach Reed and Coach Jenkins were great to talk to and spend a few days with. The team was also very nice to me and my family and they showed me around their dorms. I also got to run up and down with the team a little bit too, and it was really cool getting to play with division one level competition.” On the visit, he received an offer from Lehigh.

In addition to his newest offer, he also holds ones from Cal Poly, IUPUI, and Toledo. As well, some of the other programs showing interest in him include Colgate, DePaul, Minnesota, Morehead State, Southern Illinois, and UNC-Greensboro. Konieczny is looking to make his college commitment either by the end of this year or the beginning of 2025.
