Kruz McClure Headed to DePaul

On Monday, one of the fastest rising 2025 prospects from the summer announced his college commitment. Kruz McClure, a 6’5” guard out of Ohio, decided upon DePaul University. McClure played with the MR22 Elite program. The commitment comes after he had just taken a visit to the Chicago school.

Coming into the spring grassroots season, McClure just has a few mid-major offers. In the following months, his offer list topped twenty including multiple high major ones. DePaul had offered him back in May. He decided upon DePaul over offers from Cincinnati, Clemson, Davidson, Dayton, Tulane, VCU, Xavier, among plenty of others.

McClure established himself as one of top two-way guards nationally. As well to having good positional size in the backcourt, he also shown the ability to run the point. A good slasher, McClure is also a consistent outside shooter. As well to having great defensive tools with his size, length, and athleticism, he is a player that takes pride in his defensive game showing the ability to lock down opposing guards and wings.

The McClure commitment for Chris Holtmann and the DePaul staff was not only one for them Monday. They also received a commitment from 7’1” Isaiah Medina to form one of their top recruiting classes in recent years already.

While not only announcing his college commitment recently, McClure also made a change in schools for his senior year. He will be attending St. Johns Northwestern: DME Basketball Academy in Wisconsin.
