Over the course of his freshman season at Madison East High School and then with Davis Brothers Elite, Reece Jordan has made a name for himself in Wisconsin’s 2027 class. During his freshman season, he averaged 13.2 points to earn himself second team all-conference honors. Then in the grassroots season, Jordan helped Davis Brothers Elite earn their way into the Adidas 3SSB Finals in July going 5-2 where he averaged 13 points and 2.4 assists. In addition to winning the platinum championship back in April at the NY2LA Spring Extravaganza.
“My season with Davis Bros was fun. We traveled all around the country and won most of our games. Although we were not able to accomplish the ultimate goal, we had in mind which was to win the 3SSB championship we took a step in the right direction. I feel like me and my team put our names on the map and we’re ready to run it back next year,” Jordan said about his grassroots season.
“Mixture of Jordan Poole, Jalen Brunson, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander,” is how he described his offensive game. “I say that because isolation wise, I break people down in a way Jordan Poole does, but I also like to play with my back to the basket similar to Jalen Brunson and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, I like to create contact in the post and make my reads off what the defender does rather I need to fadeaway or bump for a counter move.” Over the course of the year, Jordan has shown a very good ability to both run the point as well as be a high-level scorer.
For his upcoming sophomore season Jordan is looking to take a big step in his game by being in the conversation for conference player of the year. He is also looking to improve his communication on the court. After his freshman season at Madison East, he is making the move to Madison La Follette for his sophomore year. “Coming to a new team I understand that I have to earn everything while also being a consistent contributor to my team’s success, embracing that role is important.”
In the initial NY2LA player rankings for Wisconsin’s 2027 class back in March, Jordan earned himself the ninth spot. If he continues to play this at the same high level, look for him to move up a few spots amongst this very deep and talented class.
