Ross Robertson Breaks Down Commitment

2025 players are starting to make early commitments with the most recent coming from Ross Robertson. The 6’8” power forward of South Beloit High School (IL) Davis Brothers Elite announced his commitment to Northern Michigan University on Tuesday.

Robertson has been one of the top players in Illinois over the past couple of seasons. In his junior season, he was named first team all-state by the IBCA after earning second team as a sophomore. While only a junior, the power forward has already scored over 2,000 career high school points.

The commitment comes after Robertson took a visit to Northern Michigan back at the end of April. “When I visited, I loved it there the campus is absolutely beautiful and it looks like a fun place to be,” he said about his visit. He received his scholarship offer following the visit.

“Northern (Michigan) just feels like home,” he said about his college selection to the division two program. “The coaches are amazing and always reaching out to me. The coaches feel like family and are so nice and outgoing, just great people to be around.” Robertson also had an offer from Winona State.

Northern Michigan is coming off a season in which they won 22 games and made it to the NCAA division two tournament. “I think it will fit in well,” Robertson said about his future suiting up for them. “My ability to space the floor while also play with my back to the basket can free up a lot of space for their other guys to make plays. It feels great to be a Wildcat.”
