Averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds as a junior for The Prairie School, 2025 small forward Tre Fenderson is off to write his next chapter. After three seasons in Wisconsin, Fenderson will take his talents to a prep program this fall and still intends to reclassify to the class of 2026.
Before he does that, Fenderson is looking to close out the summer with Wisconsin Playground Club and got things started by picking up a new scholarship offer from Iowa State.
“It was nice to get the offer,” Fenderson told NY2LA Sports. “They really said they liked how my game was, how aggressive I was. They like my overall game.”
Fenderson received the offer for the class of 2026. He also visited Ames prior to receiving the scholarship.
“I really like the school part,” he said. “During practice I liked how they’re all together and how they stuck together with each other.”
Fenderson also owns an offer from Milwaukee. Among his current suitors, the three-star wing said the Badgers, led by assistant coach Sharif Chambliss are recruiting him the hardest.
“We talk a lot,” said Fenderson. “Coach Chambliss just tells me to keep working and stay in the gym. I need to get stronger and better.
“Wisconsin wants me for my physicality and my ability to play defense, get to the rim strong, and push the ball.”
Marquette, DePaul, Illinois-Chicago, Western Michigan, San Diego, and others are showing interest in Fenderson this summer. Fenderson hoped to visit the Golden Eagles before the dead period.
“Coach Haynes (DeAndre Haynes) said he likes my physicality also,” Fenderson explained.
Iowa State was the only visit Fenderson took in June. Fenderson has no timetable for a decision.
“I just feel like the education part has to be good for me,” he said.
