Keenan Garner Talks IU-Indianapolis Commitment

Following a recruitment that has continued to take off over the past several months, 2024 Keenan Garner has announced his college commitment. The 6’6” forward of Fishers High School and Indiana Elite has picked an in-state division one program. In his senior season he averaged 16.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists to be named to the Supreme 15 list and helped Fishers win a state championship.

On Tuesday, Garner committed to IU-Indianapolis (formerly IUPUI). The commitment comes after the senior just took a visit to the nearby college on Monday. “I enjoyed it a lot as well as the location of the campus,” Garner said about the visit. While he said that “staying close to home was not a big part of my decision,” he did say that it did come into play in his decision.

“I have a good relationship with the coach and staff,” Garner said about his decision in choosing IU-Indianapolis. “It felt like a good fit for me to grow and develop moving forward.”

While Paul Corsaro has only been the head coach at IU-Indianapolis for a few weeks, his recruitment of Garner recruitment previously dates that. Corsaro had recruited and offered the senior forward back when he was the head coach at University of Indianapolis. Corsaro then offered Garner shortly after becoming the head coach at IU-Indianapolis. Other schools to have offered him include Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, and Wright State.

“Coach Corsaro has a great feel and system that is going to be instilled so I will be of use anywhere he asked me to,” Garner stated about his future playing for IU-Indianapolis.
