Grantas Sakenis Picks Up First Division Two Offer

While late in his recruitment process as a senior, Grantas Sakenis just picked up his first division two offer. Sakenis is coming off a senior season in which he averaged 14.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for Andrew High School (IL). He had previously played for the Denard Bros. program.

The offer for Sakenis came from in-state Quincy University over this past weekend. The offer comes after he took a visit to the school located on the Mississippi River on Saturday. “Quincy has a really great coaching staff,” he said about his visit.

As well to the Quincy offer, Sakenis has interest from numerous other programs. Both programs from the division three and junior college levels have been recruiting him including Elmhurst, North Central, Waubonsee, and Wisconsin-Platteville.

“I want a great community, coaches, and teammates that support each other,” Sakenis said on what he is looking for in his future college. As well to adding in “have the mindset to win.”

Sakenis is one of the most imposing figures in the Midwest regions 2024 class. Not only does he stand at 6’11” but has an incredibly strong build. There are few players even at the collegiate level that can match his tremendous size. He is a high upside center who has continued to greatly develop his game throughout his high school career.

Sakenis is looking to make his college commitment by the end of the spring.
