Nsikan Usen Ready To Emerge

One of the more intriguing high upside 2025 recruits on the NY2LA Association this upcoming season is Nsikan Usen with D Rice Elite. The 6’5” wing showed great tools on both ends of the floor last season on the Association and is coming off a stellar junior high school season.

At Lakeland High School (MI), Usen averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. He was able to earn a lengthy list of honors including team mvp, unanimous all-conference first team, and all area third team.

With this he has started to draw interest from both division one and two programs. Some of the programs showing the most interest currently include Grand Valley State and Lehigh.

“I would describe myself as a winner, I do what it takes to win for no matter what team I’m playing on,” the length and versatile two-way wing said describing his own game. I have a different role on my aau team and my high-school team, but I am able to adjust to whatever my coach needs from me. Very high motor, intensity on offense and defense. Good rebounder, and a player who likes to attack the basket, but can also space the floor.”

In the coming months there is plenty that Usen is looking to prove during his play with D Rice Elite. “I can compete at the highest level, and that I have a passion for the game. After not having the best high school season, I know I have a lot to prove; so, I want them to see the hunger in me to make it to next level, hopefully being able to go pro. On the court, I hope my hard work pays off and shows because I’m dedicated to this, and ultimately I want to have fun.”
