EJ Breland Talks Illinois Visit

Brad Underwood and Illinois continue to be very active recruiting the regions 2025 class. One of the newer juniors on their radar is in-state 6’1” guard EJ Breland of St. Patrick High School.

While the Illini has just started recruiting Breland earlier this month, he took a visit over the weekend to Champaign for their win over Iowa. “The visit was great,” Breland said. “I had a good time watching the game and going on a tour around the practice facility and just to see the intensity the Big Ten brings.”

Still early in Illinois’ recruitment of Breland, there are a few different aspects he already likes about their basketball program. “I love their play style and the tools they have to get better get there. You have 24/7 access to the gym to get shots up they have some best tools for body recovery in the program. Just so many ways to improve yourself as a player and person at the university and really can increase your chances playing at the next level.”

While Breland does not have an offer from Illinois at this point, a few other programs have already offered him. Eastern Illinois, Nebraska, and Northern Illinois have all extended offers to the junior. Some of the other programs he has been in touch with include Oregon State, UW-Milwaukee, and Western Illinois.
