Thian Riak Is Poised For A Big Spring

While his recruitment is still taking some to develop as only a sophomore, the game and stock of Thian Riak has continued to greatly grow. The 6’5” wing guard of Madison La Follette High School and Team Herro has continued to develop into one of the top recruits in Wisconsin’s 2026 class.

While just a sophomore, Riak is currently averaging a double-double. The wing guard is currently averaging 24 points and 10 rebounds per game as Madison La Follette nears the end of the regular season. Throughout the season, the game of Riak has only continued to greatly grow as he has had games of 40 and 34 points recently. As well to all of his success in his sophomore high school season, Riak was also a big part of the Phenom University team that captured that 15U NY2LA Association championship last summer.

With all of the success Riak on the hardwood in addition to his tremendous upside, his recruitment has yet to catch up. Back in August he received a scholarship offer from Bryant University, though that is his only offer currently.

Riak has proven to be a very explosive athlete. His offensive game has continued to take great strides and really shown this season with a very good ability to attack the basket. While he has gotten plenty of attention as of late with his scoring ability, Riak is also a real standout on the defensive side of the ball with all his physical tools. He has a great ability to match up and shut down both guards and wings alike. There are few sophomores in the region that can make as big of an impact on the court as Riak can with all he can do.
