Dalton Scantlebury Starting To Emerge

One junior who is really emerging this high school season in Illinois is Dalton Scantlebury. With his breakout junior season at Lane Tech, he is emerging as one of the top 2025 power forwards in the entire state.

Scantlebury is averaging 13 points and 10 rebounds for Lane Tech who currently has a 17-11 record on the season. At 6’9” as well with his versatile game make him such an intriguing college recruit. “Two-way post player,” is how the junior first described his own game. Adding in, “With the ability to pass and guard one through five. Jump shot is improving as well,” he said as he has proven he can consistently step outside and hit threes.

With everything he has shown on the court and his even greater upside, Scantlebury should be a very popular name amongst college coaches moving forward and have plenty of eyes on him in the spring and summer. Following the high school season, he will be suiting up for Team Rose in the grassroots season. There are few players with his size and mobility, high energy, ability to defend multiple positions, and versatile scoring ability. While still early in his recruitment, he has started to hear from college coaches from various levels and that should only continue to grow.

The junior was a big piece of the Lane Tech team that advanced all the way to the Chicago city championship quarterfinals this season. Up next for Scantlebury and Lane Tech is the Illinois state tournament where they have earned the seven seed in the Park Ridge sectional.
