OFFERS CONTINUE TO ROLL IN FOR PHOENIX GILL

Following a breakout sophomore season at St. Ignatius College Prep, the recruitment stock has continued to greatly build for 6’3” guard Phoenix Gill. He was a big reason why St. Ignatius was able to advance all the way to the 3A Illinois state semifinals back in March. Additionally, he was named special mention all-state by the IBCA as only a sophomore.

Illinois was the first school to offer Gill, doing so last year. Though his stock really took off following the June live periods this year. Over the course of June and July, Iowa State, Northwestern, Toledo, and Valparaiso all offered him as well. Now most recently, Stanford offered him as well coming earlier this week. This fall, DePaul, Illinois, Iowa State, Marquette, Northwestern, Purdue, Stanford, and Toledo have all attended workouts of his.

The most recent visit for Gill took place last weekend making a trip to Iowa State. “It was really good,” he said about the visit to the Big 12 program. “Got to build a lot of relationships and overall a fun time.

Next up for Gill is a visit to Illinois coming up next week on October 6th. For his upcoming junior season, he is looking at taking it a step forward from last season’s semifinals appearance and winning a state championship.
