RICHARD BARRON OPENS UP RECRUITMENT FROM GEORGE MASON

With coach Kim English making the move from George Mason to Providence College, that has made some shifts in the Patriot’s 2023 recruitment class. Richard Barron has opened up his recruitment from George Mason and has been granted his release from his George Mason.

Barron, the 6’5” wing guard of St. Ignatius College Prep and Meanstreets, now becomes the top available 2023 prospect in Illinois and one of the top available wing guards in the nation. In his senior season, he earned 3A first team all-state honors from the IBCA. He helped lead St. Ignatius all the way to the state semifinals.

Before making his commitment to George Mason back in October, Barron had a long list of offers. Arizona State, Bradley, DePaul, Illinois State, Indiana State, Kent State, Loyola Chicago, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Toledo, UIC, and Wisconsin-Milwaukee were amongst his offers previously.

With the combination of strong physical play, shooting ability and versatility, look for plenty of programs to quickly get involved in his recruitment.
