CHASE BARNES EMERGING AS ONE OF TOP SOPHS IN INDIANA

As Chase Barnes moves deeper into his high school career, it is clear that he is one of the top 2025 players in Indiana amongst a very strong class in the state. The 6’1” guard is currently averaging 13.4 points per game to help Wayne High School out to a 13-4 record as the postseason nears. After making a big impact last season as a freshman, the game of Barnes continues to greatly grow. Not only is he one of the more athletic players in the area but also a skilled and versatile scorer.

Right now, Barnes holds a pair of division one offers coming from IUPUI and Western Michigan. “I’m just really grateful to be in the position that I’m in,” he said about his current recruitment. When talking about the two programs that have already offered him, Barnes said “I really like the style of play of both teams, and I also feel like I can build a really good relationship with Coach Stephens and Coach Crenshaw.”

Other programs recruiting him includes Ball State, Belmont, and Purdue Fort Wayne. He recently took a visit to one of these programs in Ball State for their game against Western Michigan. “It was a very good experience. It was good to see that level of basketball and to see the level I have the ability to be playing at.”

As well to the recent visit to Ball State, he is looking to schedule a visit to check out Western Michigan soon. He had also previously taken a visit to IUPUI back in the fall. This spring Barnes will be playing with Indy Heat Red.
