Over the past year, Jerry Easter II has developed into one of the top 2025 players in the entire nation. Not only has the 6’5” point guard earned himself over twenty scholarship offers but was also invited to the USA Basketball Junior National Team minicamp recently.
Easter was only one of twenty players from the class of 2025 represented at the USA Basketball minicamp last month in Colorado Springs. He was joined by other top sophomores nationwide including Cameron and Cayden Boozer, Jamier Jones, Koa Peat, Bryson Tiller, among others. Easter called it an awesome experience getting to participate in the mini camp and play with the great competition.
Even though he is only starting his sophomore year, he has been a highly sought-after recruit for a few years already. Before he even reached high school, Easter had already received multiple offers. Some of the prominent programs to have already offered him include Louisville, Memphis, Ohio State, Syracuse, UCLA, and Washington.
The most recent visit this fall for Easter was to an in-state school in Ohio State. “My visit at Ohio State felt like home,” he said about the trip to Columbus. While he hasn’t taken any other visits, he is planning on visiting “a lot of other schools.” With having a long list of offers, Easter said that none of the schools are standing out. “It’s still early in the process, I’m just enjoying everybody right now.”
After earning conference player of the year as only a freshman last season even in a shortened season after a wrist injury, it will be interesting to see what he can accomplish during his upcoming sophomore season at Emmanuel Christian. While he already has over twenty offers to date, look for that list to continue to grow.
