One of the more under recruited guards in Wisconsin’s 2023 class currently is Antwan Jones. Over the past year, his play on the hardwood has come a long way but his recruitment is still waiting to catch up. Throughout the spring and summer playing with MTXE Premier, Jones continued to show further skills and showcase his playmaking ability.
There are a few division three programs interested in the 6’3” guard though he has shown the ability of a player that should be a priority division three target if not a scholarship level player. He is an athletic and quick guard with some size that is a standout on both ends of the floor. He is a very skilled facilitator with his ability to get paint touches and create for his teammates in addition to his perimeter shooting that has greatly improved this year.
Jones mentioned several things he can provide to a collegiate program in addition to his facilitating and playmaking. “Another thing I can offer to a college is energy for the team and going to get a bucket. One more thing is I take defense very seriously.”
For his future college, Jones is looking for a few different aspects from the coaches and team. “I’m really looking for a staff that cares about their players and are honest and has a winning culture.”
With his versatile game and improved ability, look for Burns to have a big senior season as a part of a strong Catholic Memorial High School team.
