Recruitment Turning Up For Eli Evans

After a standout grassroot season with Drive Pro Select, Eli Evans has started to see some growth in his recruitment. This includes plenty of interest as well as a recent offer for the 6’3” guard of Columbus Catholic High School (IA).

“Really well,” is how Evans described his grassroots season with Drive Pro Select. “I was able to grow as a player by focusing on the little details, learning to control the pace of the game, and becoming a better leader and teammate.” During his four NY2LA tournaments over the course of the spring and summer he averaged a lofty 14.4 points per game in addition to 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

The recent offer for Evans came from Crown College. When asked about his visit to the Minnesota campus and his thoughts on them, Evans said “I really liked how welcoming everyone was during my visit, and I felt that they truly believed in what I can bring to their program. I also feel Crown will challenge me to keep growing, both on the court and in the classroom.”

In addition to Crown College, Evans is receiving interest from programs at the division two, three, and NAIA levels. “It’s been a blessing to have those opportunities and build those relationships,” he said about his recruitment.

“I believe I can bring strong leadership, reliable scoring, and playmaking to any team I’m part of,” is what Evans believes he can offer a college program. “On the defensive side, I take pride in pressuring the ball, creating stops, and using my energy to help the team thrive on both ends of the floor.
