First Offer For 2027 PG Isaiah McCree

After a standout grassroots season with the Motor City Grizzlies, Isaiah McCree has received his first scholarship offer. This came from Saginaw Valley State University for the 2027-point guard of Detroit Catholic Central High School.

“The feeling is amazing to be offered to play college basketball,” McCree said about getting this first offer. “I work hard every day to improve, and this helps me know the work is paying off. I am very blessed and thank God for the opportunity.”

The offer for McCree comes after he attended their team camp back in June. When asked about Saginaw Valley State, he stated “I like the team SVSU is building. They are recruiting a lot of really good players. My family use to live near SVSU and we would go on campus to use their gym. They have a nice campus and I hear the academic options are really good too. My dad and my sister graduated from SVSU.”

In addition to Saginaw Valley State, McCree has been receiving interest from a few other division two programs. The ones who have been showing the most interest from this group include Grand Valley State and Wayne State.

McCree was one of the top point guards at each of the two NY2LA tournaments he played at this summer. Between his nine games at the Midwest Classic D2 Showcase and Summer Jam tournaments, he averaged 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.1 steals per game. He did this while shooting 56.7% from the field and 38.8% from three while hitting over two of them per game.
