Justin Curry Commits to Valparaiso

Valparaiso has landed a key commitment in the 2026 class with the addition of guard Justin Curry. The 6’4” guard of Noblesville High School and the Indy Heat cited multiple reasons for choosing Valpo, with relationships and fit at the top of the list.

“Coach Powell and his staff made me feel like family from the day they started recruiting me,” Curry said. “Also, the distance from home makes it accessible for my family to come to games. That was really important to me.”

“That play style fits me and the way I’ve played my whole life,” he explained. “Coach showed me film, and we were on the same page, line for line, word for word. I knew right then it was the right fit.”

The commitment comes after Curry just took his official visit the Valparaiso campus this past weekend. “I had a good time at the Popcorn Fest, meeting all of Valpo’s community,” Curry said. “And hanging with the coaches, staff, and players. They treated me like I was already part of the family.”

Curry also took an unofficial visit in July, but the official sealed the deal. He chose Valpo over his other offers coming from DePaul, Iona, Murray State, Nevada, Northwestern, Purdue Fort Wayne, Texas Rio Grande Valley, UT Martin, and others.
