Recruitment Taking Off For 2027 Colin Julien

In terms of recruitment, 6’3” guard Colin Julien of Chapman Basketball Academy has been one of the more popular targets in Wisconsin’s deep and talented 2027 class. This has been highlighted by him receiving a trio of division two offers during the summer.

Earlier this summer, he was one of the top players at the NY2LA Midwest Classic D2 Showcase averaging 13 points while shooting 50% from the field. He also shot 54.5% from three while hitting three of them per game. This was in addition to 4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game for the versatile and lengthy guard.

In June, Menlo College was the first schools to offer him a scholarship. “Great school for student-athletes. Very nice location,” Julien had to say about the division two school located out in California.

Later that month he added his next offer coming from Northern Michigan. When asked about Northern Michigan, Julien said “They have an experienced and well-respected coaching staff, with very nice and modern facilities. Just as good as any division one school.”

Most recently last week at the end of July, Julien added an offer from Michigan Tech. “They are very player oriented. Coaches have pro level experience and are great at developing talent. Small but beautiful campus,” Julien said. His offer from Michigan Tech came following a campus visit. “My visit with Michigan Tech was one I will never forget. I met a lot of the players, who showed me around campus and their homes to see what it was like to live as a student athlete in Houghton. The coaches were very welcoming and did everything to make my experience better. I learned a lot about the basketball side of Tech, but a lot about the academic side as well.”

In addition to his high level of recruitment from division two programs, Julien has also started to get himself on the radars of some division one programs. This has included Evansville and St. Thomas who have been in touch with the rising junior.

“It has been a blessing to receive these offers. It is really hard to get offers these days, so I am very fortunate to receive some. It shows that the work I have putting in this summer has paid off but there is a lot still to get better at going into my Junior year,” Julien stated on picking up his offers. Next up for him in his junior season at Whitefish Bay High School, Julien is looking to make a deep playoff run, be a great leader, and “do all the little things to make our team great.”
