In addition to the previously covered news in other articles, plenty of other recruitment pieces taking place recently following the grassroots season. Here are some of top stories from the past seven days.
One of the biggest recruitment news came over the weekend with Mason Lockett making his commitment. The highly rated guard of Oswego East and Young & Reckless will be staying close by with his commitment to DePaul.
Another prominent commitment from the Chicagoland area in the 2026 class came from Jayden Wright. The Benet Academy and Illinois Wolves point guard will be headed to Eastern Illinois next year.
Valparaiso was able to pick up a commitment out of Illinois 2025 class in 6’7” forward Hudson Scroggins of Fundamental U. He will be doing a post graduate year at Kimball Union prior heading to Valpo.
The highly sought after EJ Hazelett has made his commitment. The 6’7” Indy Heat forward selected Indiana State over his lengthy list of offers.
A commitment out of Michigan came from Wilson Huckeby. The Freeland 2026 guard made his pick to Saginaw Valley State.
The high major offers continue to come in for 2027 guard Jalen Brown of Power 5 and Wauwatosa West. He has now added another Big Ten offer with this one coming from Indiana.
While we covered Caden Gustafson being offered by Northern Michigan just last week, the 24Up guard has now made his commitment to the division two program.
Following his breakout season with Team Herro, 2027 wing Deuce McDuffie is starting to see his recruitment quickly build. This came from an offer from UCF.
Another Team Herro member seeing their recruitment grow is 2026 guard Josh Manchester. He has picked up multiple division one offers this summer with the newest coming from Green Bay.
After picking up his first scholarship offer back in June, Will Krueger has added another one. This came from Michigan Tech for the 6’4” 2027 wing guard of the Wisconsin Legends and De Pere.
Another 2027 in Wisconsin picking up an offer from Michigan Tech was Keaton Wollan of the Wisconsin Playmakers.
Kayden Schultz continues to be one of the most popular division two targets in Wisconsin’s 2026 class. The Chapman North guard added another D2 offer with this one from Minnesota State Moorhead.
Jensen LePla has added his second division two offer of the summer. This one came from Saginaw Valley State for the 2027 wing guard of D Rice Elite. He was also offered by Michigan Tech last month.
Yale has extended an offer to one of the top players in Illinois’ 2026 class. This was to 6’10” Tim Winkler of the Midwest Renegade and Romeoville High School.
Owen VanderWaal has continued to be a popular target picking up offers from multiple levels. The newest for the 6’7” senior power forward of WM Premier and Unity Christian came from Taylor University.
South Dakota has extended an offer out to Michael Nee of Breakaway Basketball and Glenbard East. This is his second division one offer as he was also recently offered by Dartmouth.
Yorkville Christian and Young & Reckless point guard Jayden Riley continues to add the division one offers. The newest for the rising senior came from South Carolina State.
Eli Krueger continues to pick up the division two offers recently. The newest ones for the 2027 post of the Wisconsin Swing were from Lake Superior State, Michigan Tech, and Winona State all in the past week.
Another 2027 in Wisconsin adding a division two offer was Colin Julien. The 6’3” guard of Whitefish Bay and Chapman Basketball was offered by Michigan Tech.
Loyola Academy and Breakaway 2026 point guard Trey Williams has picked up another division one offer, this one from Dartmouth.
Another 2026 out of Illinois picking up an offer was Cooper Knowles. The 6’9” big man of West Hancock got his from in-state Quincy.
Eastern Kentucky extended an offer out to Cardinal Ritter rising junior, Devin Bolden.
