Northern Michigan Offers Caden Gustafson

From a first team all-state junior season with Waterford High School (WI) into a stellar grassroots season with 24UP, 2026 Caden Gustafson has earned his first division two offer. The 6’3” two guard was offered by Northern Michigan University.

In his junior season, Gustafson averaged 21.9 points to lead Waterford to a 24-4 season in which they reached the sectional finals. Not only did he earn all-state honors from the WBCA but also conference player of the year as well as academic all-state. He is one of the top shooters in Wisconsin’s 2026 class.

“I’m super grateful for the opportunity and Coach Majkrzak for believing in me,” Gustafson said about receiving the offer from Northern Michigan.

The scholarship offer for Gustafson comes following a visit to the Michigan upper peninsula school. “The visit was amazing, and I really enjoyed every second of it. Getting the opportunity to see it in person really made it special.” When asked if there was anything he like about Northern Michigan, he said “The coaches, facilities, and campus are all fantastic. Also, the area around it is unbelievable.”
