A lot of talent was on display at The Final Chapter, here is part 2 of my 15U top performers.
Adonis Gooden – 2028 – PG – HQ Elite
Gooden is a scoring point guard who can score both on and off the ball. He knocked down 5 threes, on his way to 18 points in a win. He played really well in the pick and roll setting, either getting all the way to the rim, or stepping back and hitting the triple. Also scored within the offense, coming off of screens and filling spots in the motion, to knock down open shots.
Jahari Sanders – 2028 – F – Hoops4Health
The long term potential of Sanders is something to keep an eye on. At 6’6 with a ton of length, he blocks shots at a high rate. He had 5 plus blocks in a win, having some late in the game to seal the deal. He showed flashes as a low post scorer and a rim runner. Liked to see how active he was on the boards, really working hard to give his team extra chances.
Caden Hagerstrom – 2028 – W – Wisconsin Blizzard
I was really intrigued by Hagerstrom because of his size at 6’6”, length, and skill both on the perimeter and in the paint. He scored inside with nice footwork and poise, it never seemed like he was sped up or forced anything. He has a really nice feel for the game and is comfortable handling the ball on the perimeter.
Simon Laven – 2028 – PG – Fundamental U
Laven played an outstanding game Saturday morning, scoring 19 points leading his team to a win. He displayed his tight handle, using that to get all the way to the rim and score. He finished in traffic around bigger defenders and also knocked down three deep balls. He controlled the game really well and seemed to always come up with a basket when his team needed one.
Davieon Vanarsdale – 2028 – W – Drive Pro Select
It was an impressive performance Vanarsdale put on Saturday morning scoring 15 points. He showed his athletic ability, scoring in transition and blowing by defenders in the half court. He also started to take some threes, which is the next part of expanding his game. He took over the game helping his team battle back and was just a man amongst boys on the court.
Robert Talbert – 2028 – G – Nova Village
Talbert is a strong bodied two guard who excels at scoring the ball in transition. He scored 13 points in a win, often leaking out for easy layups. Was solid on the defensive end, often coming up with steals, leading to fast break points. He plays really well off of two feet and has nice body control around the basket. He helped lead his team to a 4-0 weekend.
