From Wisconsin’s loaded 2027 class, another member of it has received their first scholarship offer. This was for Keaton Wollan, a 6’4” guard, forward of Amery High School and the Wisconsin Playmakers. The offer for Wollan came from Cal State Bakersfield.
Even during his sophomore season this past winter, Wollan put up some big numbers. He averaged 20.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game for 21-8 Amery. While just halfway through his high school career, he has already hit the 1,000 career point milestone and was named first team all-conference. His high level of play has continued into the spring where he was one of the top players this past weekend at the NY2LA Midwest Classic.
When asked about his feeling about receiving his first offer, Wollan said “It feels awesome. It doesn’t even feel real. I’m glad my work is finally paying off, and I’m striving for more.” While the offer from Cal State Bakersfield may just be his first, his recruitment does go much further as he is receiving interest from other division one and two programs. Amongst these are Minnesota Duluth, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Southwest Minnesota State, and Winona State.
“A guy who can get to his spots and either score or dish off to the open man,” Wollan first said when describing his own game. “I’m best at slashing to the rim but I’m a very capable jump shooter. I feel like my best attribute would be my ability to find the open guy.” As well to all these tools, he also showcased his strength this past weekend at the NY2LA Midwest Classic. Wollan was consistently able to get all the way to the basket utilizing his physicality powering right through defenders.
