Over the weekend, Tavian Crawford announced his college commitment. The 6’2” senior guard of Sun Prairie West High School (WI) and Davis Brothers Elite will be headed to Lewis University for next season.
“I immediately liked Lewis,” Crawford said about his decision. Adding in, “Because it made me feel welcome and at home. The coaching staff was great, and the atmosphere felt like home.”
His recruitment to the division two program quickly came along over the last several weeks. Lewis started recruiting Crawford just at the beginning of May. Next up in the recruitment process, the senior guard took a visit to the Romeoville, Illinois campus back in the middle of May. “It went great,” he first said about the visit. “I got to see the whole campus and loved everything.”
In his senior season, Crawford averaged 19 points while shooting 56% from the field in addition to 6.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1 steal per game for 16-10 Sun Prairie West. He earned himself second team all-conference honors. When asked about how his game fits in at Lewis, he stated “I feel that my game fits perfectly in the system. I feel that my game will help the team be successful and win games.” He will be joining a Lewis team that is coming off an 17-11 season.
