Karson Thomas Updates Recruitment

After receiving some division one offers early in his recruitment last year, the interest for Karson Thomas has continued to build with growing interest. The 6’3” 2026 guard of Marist High School (IL) and Midwest Renegade has numerous college programs recruiting him currently.

Last spring Thomas was able to pull in a trio of division one offers. These came from Cal State Northridge, Iona, and Northern Illinois. In addition to this, Air Force, Illinois State, Miami (OH), Northern Michigan, Penn, Princeton, and Southern Indiana have all shown interest in the guard.

In his junior season, he averaged 13 points per game along with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. This was for one of the top teams in state in Marist who won a school record 31 games on their way to a regional championship. On the season, Thomas earned himself all-conference honors in the East Suburban Catholic Conference. From his high school season, Thomas has continued the same high level of play early on into the grassroots season with the Midwest Renegade. To open the season, he helped them reach the 17U platinum semifinals of the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish Tournament while being one of the top guards of the tournament. “I want to show my playmaking skills and ability to spread the floor with efficient shooting. I also want to show that I’m capable of defending ninety-four feet,” Thomas said for goals in his grassroots season.

Next up in the recruitment of Thomas are some college visits. Last year he visited Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Southern Indiana. This year he is looking to take visits to Cal State Northridge and Iona.
