With his play for both Unity Christian High School (MI) and Northcoast Premier over the past year, Kyler Berghuis has continued to attract college interest. The 6’2” 2026 guard has been receiving interest from division two, three, and NAIA programs from around the Midwest region and beyond.
“Athletic playmaking guard,” Berghuis said describing his own game. “A good pull up jumper to put pressure on the defense. My best attribute is my on-ball defense along with my speed getting to the rim.”
Amongst the lengthy list of schools that have reached out to Berghuis include Calvin, Cornerstone, Hope, Lake Superior State, Palm Beach Atlantic, Spring Arbor, Taylor, among others.
With the help of Berghuis, Northcoast Premier was one of the top teams at the 2026 level of the NY2LA Association last season. He continued that play into his junior season in which he earned all-conference honors while helping Unity Christian to a lofty 20-3 record. Now to start off the spring grassroots season, Berghuis helped Northcoast Premier to be the runner-up at the Roundball All-Star Spring Showcase this past weekend.
College coaches can check out Berghuis and the rest of the 2026 Northcoast Premier team playing on the NY2LA Platinum Elite this season.
