As his game on the court continues to greatly grow, so does his recruitment. The newest news in the recruitment of the 6’8” sophomore forward Donovan Davis of Freedom High School (WI) and Team Herro is a visit to Iowa State. Right now in his season, he is averaging 24.8 points while shooting 67.3% from the field in addition to 11.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.4 steals for 12-1 Freedom High School.
Last Wednesday Davis made the trip to Ames, Iowa for their top ten victory over Kansas. “Amazing,” he called the visit. “They treated me and my family very well while they were there and it was great to see them get the win.”
“The environment was very supportive for their team,” Davis said about the atmosphere at the highly anticipated game. “Whenever there were big plays, they were always clapping and standing up cheering for their team. It felt like the whole town of Ames was there.”
When asked about their program, Davis said “I like their program including their coaching staff. Coach JR is always trying to get on a call with me at least once a week and Coach TJ at least once a month. They always talk about how much I would fit into their program.”
Iowa State has already offered Davis doing so back in October. He also has been offered by Wisconsin. Next up in his recruitment, both St. Louis University and Marquette are working on getting him to their campus for visits.
