Even with all the talent of scholarship players and veterans on Homestead High School (WI), it is sophomore Oliver Belot who currently leads them in scoring. After seeing limited action at the varsity level, the 6’0” is having a breakout sophomore season helping them to an 8-3 record.
Right now in his sophomore season, Belot is currently averaging 17.2 points per game in addition to 4.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. “My high school season is going well. I’m getting to play with great teammates and coaches,” he said about the season.
“True three level scorer,” is how Belot described his own game. “Can impact winning in a number of ways. I’ve been really working on my rebounding and defense and continue to get better.” For the remainder of the season, he is looking to win conference, make a run in the state tournament, and “get better every day.”
Prior to his breakout sophomore season, Belot had a standout grassroots season with Chapman Basketball Academy. “I led the team in scoring, and we went 35-7. We really came together and got better all season. It was a true team effort.”
