One of the latest commitments out of Wisconsin came from Roan Demovsky. The 6’1” senior point guard of De Pere High School and Team 1848 committed to Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday.
“I really connected with their guys which was very important to me,” Demovsky said about his decision to choose Eau Claire. “I loved the coaches, and the facilities were super impressive.” Before his commitment, the main schools that were recruiting the point guard included Hillsdale, Michigan Tech, St. John’s (MN), and UW-Oshkosh.
The commitment comes after Demovsky took visits to Eau Claire in both September and then again in October. “I loved it, the campus was amazing and it like the coaches really wanted me,” he said about the visits.
For his future on suiting up for Eau Claire and how his game fits, Demovsky stated “They set a lot of ball screens and love to get in the paint for kick out threes and getting in those are two of my best qualities as a player.” In his junior season at De Pere he averaged 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game in their 26-2 season. In his junior season he earned second team all-conference honors as well as all defensive team. He then followed that up with a breakout season with Team 1848 where he was one of the top point guards on the NY2LA Association.
