Jonah Funk Commits To South Dakota

Another player from MidPro Academy’s 2025 team has announced their college commitment to a division one program. This came from Jonah Funk who will be headed to University of South Dakota. From his MidPro Academy team he joins Dietrich Richardson, Braden Freeman, Kobe Walker, Leshawn Stowers, and Matthew Zobrist who have all already committed to a division one school.

The commitment comes after the 6’10” senior power forward of Metamora High School (IL) took his official visit to South Dakota this past weekend. “Great,” is what Funk called his visit to the Summit League school. “They got great facilities, the campus is easy to navigate, and there are a lot of great food spots around town. Me and the team got along great, and I got to spend a lot of time with them which was the highlight of the visit.” On his visit, Funk received his scholarship offer from Coyotes.

“I liked their coaching staff the most,” Funk said about his decision. “They really took care of me on my official. They also showed me how I would fit in great with their team. They offered on my visit and I couldn’t help but take it.”

Funk has some personal goals on the hardwood before he heads to South Dakota next year. “My biggest goal is to put on weight so I can fit in well there. Putting on weight will allow me to mesh well with that team, so it is focusing on that more than anything now.”
