A very fast rising big man with tremendous upside to know is Ben Forbes. The 6’9” senior forward was one of the biggest stock boosters on the NY2LA Association during the grassroots season with his play with Wisconsin Swing.
Currently, Forbes is seeing interest from programs on numerous levels including from division one to division three. Amongst the colleges include Jamestown, South Dakota, St. Norbert, UW-Platteville, and UW-Whitewater.
Forbes is a very unique recruit with all his tools. Even while standing at 6’9”, he is still a very mobile forward. In addition to being able to use his size inside on both ends, he can also stretch the floor and consistently hit threes. While his game has taken great strides just from his junior year at McFarland High School through his grassroots season to now, Forbes is just scratching the surface of his upside with all his tools.
When asked what he is looking for in his future college program, Forbes said “I want a coach who will coach me hard when needed but also let me play and correct myself on some of my mistakes. I also want a school that will fit my play style, playing fast with a big man who can shoot, rebound, play in the post, and play defense.” On a commitment timeline, he is looking to make a choice “around the middle to end of the basketball season.
Next up for Forbes in his recruitment, he is planning a visit to South Dakota.
