It’s early, but Wauwatosa West 2027 guard Jalen Brown has already made a name for himself as one of the best players in Wisconsin. A versatile, two-way guard with an all-around skillset, Brown picked up his most recent offer from Northern Illinois this month.
“They loved how I run the floor, how I facilitate, and how I play hard on defense,” said Brown.
Grambling State was the first program to offer Brown, who averaged 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game while playing alongside a pair of Division 1 prospects, including four-star center Kai Rogers.
At 6-foot-4, Brown aims to continue to stay on the ball at the next level.
“I want to be a point guard,” he said. “That’s what I do. I would love to continue to be a point guard.”
Brown is picking up early interest from Marquette, Purdue, Wake Forest, Minnesota, DePaul, Wisconsin, and Southern Utah.
Nothing is set yet, but Brown hopes to visit the Golden Eagles in the near future.
“They’re really high on me,” said Brown. “They want me to be more energetic on the court, be more vocal. I love their energy. I love their play style.”
Still very early in his recruitment, Brown is looking for a spot he can develop throughout his collegiate career and have a chance to play early.
“I want to make sure the coach has my best interest in mind and a place I can work my up from as a freshman,” he said.
Brown plays with Team Herro during the travel season.
