With his play over the past several months, Trey Williams is getting on plenty of division one coaches’ radars. This includes ACC and Ivy League schools which he just took visits over the past couple of weekends for the 6’3” junior point guard of Loyola Academy (IL) and Breakaway Basketball.
The first of the visits for Williams was out west to Stanford. “My visit to Stanford was awesome! The campus was amazing, and the coaching staff and players were super helpful and informative,” Williams said about his visit. When talking about their basketball program, he stated “I personally liked the philosophy and play style of Stanford’s head coach Kyle Smith. He focuses a lot on the intangibles and playing together while also allowing his players to play free and make the most of their talents.”
Most recently, Williams also took a visit to Princeton. When asked about the visit to the Ivy League school, he said “which was also super cool.”
In addition to these two schools which he visited, some of the others recruiting him include Appalachian State, Harvard, Miami (OH), Northern Iowa, Penn, and Yale. When asked about his upcoming junior high school season, Williams said “My goals for this upcoming season are to average at least 15 points a game, lead my team to a better record than we had last year as well as win our Loyola Thanksgiving tournament and make it over the hump that we couldn’t last year.”
