Following his sophomore season at Beloit Memorial High School (WI) in which he averaged 25.1 points and spring with Team Herro, Amare Hereford picked up his first scholarship offer. Western Illinois was the first school to extend an offer to the 6’1” guard. He is currently ranked eleventh in NY2LA’s Wisconsin 2026 player rankings.
“It feels amazing,” Hereford said about receiving his first division one offer. “I’m very blessed for this opportunity. I’ve been working very hard for this moment. I will always remain humble, and never take anything for granted.”
As well to picking up his first offer, Hereford called it a “big week and with my recruitment starting to takeoff.” He said that there have been several division one coaches who have started to show interest in him.
“Facilitating point guard who can score the ball at a high level,” he said describing his own game. “I also like to get my teammates involved and get them going.”
