2025 Spring Extravaganza – 17U Top Performers Part 1

Part one of three to cover all the great talent from the 17U group at this past weekend’s NY2LA Spring Extravaganza.

Buck Allen – 2026 – G – The Academy

Allen proved to be one of the top shooters of the entire tournament. This was especially true in a game on Sunday in which he knocked down six threes in a win for The Academy finishing with a total of 24 points. When he gets set on the perimeter the junior guard was just not missing even when he got fouled to connect on a four-point play. As well to his great outside shooting ability, he showed that he can handle the ball and also passed it well.

Traevon Koch – 2026 – G – Grassroots Sizzle

Koch proved to be one of the top scorers of the entire tournament but also the ability to run the point and create for others. His scoring included 17 points in a single half of play. The 6’3” combo guard moves so well with the ball to have a great ability to create his own shot but is also highly elusive getting to the rim. Koch is also a highly explosive guard with a few powerful dunks over the weekend. There are many aspects of his game that will translate well to the college level.

Noah Maniscalco – 2026 – G – Wisconsin Legends

After a great tournament at Swish N’ Dish earlier this month, Maniscalco shined again at the Spring Extravaganza leading the Legends to a 4-0 weekend. In the two games I saw of him he went for 22 points and then 17. He continues to show off his great shot making ability whether from three or pulling up in the mid-range or moving well with the ball. He also showed his toughness and motor diving out of bounds to save a loose ball.

Romerey Mateus – 2025 – PF – Ice Tre Elite

The unsigned senior played extremely well throughout the tournament. This included a dominant 32 point game on Sunday in a win which included 19 points in the first half alone but also had multiple standout games. Mateus has good physical tools standing at 6’8” in addition to a strong build. He showcased a versatile offensive game as he was very effective scoring it posting up but also hit three threes in that one game and played well in the pick and roll.

Chris Pohl – 2026 – F – Wisconsin Playmakers

The 6’7” forward was one of the top shooters of the entire tournament. He started it off by hitting five threes in his first game of the tournament and then hitting three in the next game. He was a big part of helping the Playmakers to a 4-0 tournament with some impressive wins. Not only was he hitting plenty of threes but doing so at an extremely high percentage. Pohl is also showing improved quickness and played tough on the glass on both ends. Easy to see why he has several division two offers.

Wes Rahn – 2026 – F – Wisconsin Academy

From being very good last season, Rahn is still looking much improved. The 6’8” forward has a solid build and is playing much more aggressively inside and moving agile around the paint to finish everything plus quickly getting off the floor. This also showed in his rebounding where he was not only grabbing everything around him but also rebounding well out of area to be one of the top rebounders of the tournament. He scored it well throughout the tournament including a 29 point game. Rahn is playing like a division one level recruit.

Kayden Schultz – 2026 – G – Chapman North

Schultz started the tournament in a big way. He hit a three in the first possession of his first game and then 8 points in the first three minutes of the game and continued to play very well from there helping his team to a 3-1 weekend. On Friday he scored a very efficient 20 points. Not only is a highly skilled scorer but is also a smart playmaker with the ball and willing passer. His all-around offensive skill set is one of the best in Wisconsin’s 2026 class with such a great ability to create for himself as well as others.

Levii Tallos – 2026 – SG – Full Package

Tallos has continued to impress throughout this spring with another great tournament. As well to good positional size at 6’4” in the backcourt he is also a highly skilled scorer who knows how to play. While he had a few impressive games in Iowa, he shined Sunday morning scoring 24 points in a game including 13 in the first half. The breakout junior has an incredibly well-rounded scoring ability but did most of his damage as a straight-line driver finishing at an extremely high percentage but is also a consistent three-point shooter hitting plenty of them over the three days.
