After the flashing great upside last year on the NY2LA Association, Kuol Atak of 3D Empire has taken the next step in his game. He has truly broken out this spring to be one of the top players at the 16u level of the association. This follows his sophomore year at Haltom High School (TX) in which the forward averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game.
After a great tournament during week one of the association this spring to earn himself first team honors, Atak was even better in week two to be named the underclassmen MVP. “I don’t really care about that,” Atak said about all the recognition he has gotten this spring with his tremendous play. “The main reason I am doing grassroots is to get better but everything else that comes along with it is extra credit.”
Not only does Atak stand at 6’8” with good length but is also is a skilled forward. He moves well for his size, can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket, plus shoots it well from the outside. He has consistently been one of the top scorers at the 16U level. Though the main aspects of his game he would like to improve upon include his ball handling and reading the floor.
If Atak continues his current trend upwards, he has the upside to play at any college level. He should be a popular name amongst college coaches in the very near future.
