2024 F/C JASON JAKSTYS CONTINUES TO PULL IN OFFERS

As expected, it has been a big few months for Jason Jakstys with the scholarship offers rolling in for the 6’10” post of Yorkville High School. Over the course of the spring with Breakaway Basketball, the rising senior has risen his offer list to near double digits.

Up until February Jakstys did not hold a single division one offer until Illinois State extended a scholarship to him. Since then, Boston University, Eastern Illinois, Indiana State, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland, Penn, and St. Thomas have all also offered one of the top 2024 big men in the entire Midwest. “It is very exciting getting different looks and offers from many schools,” he said about his recruitment recently with all the new offers.

During the spring, Jakstys was a big part of the 17U Breakaway team playing alongside Jack Stanton, Luke Kinkade, and others on the Under Armor Association. Even while dealing with plenty of injuries, Breakaway was still able to finish the spring 7-3 on the UAA to finish in the top 8. “It was a great experience building new relationships with my teammates and coaches. Can’t wait to get back with them this summer.”

As well to the slew of new offers, the highly regarded big man has several high major programs showing interest in him. Coaches from the ACC, Big 10, and Big 12 have all reached out to him in addition to ones from the Ivy, Missouri Valley, and Mountain West. Once again this summer, Jakstys and 17U Breakaway will be playing on the Under Armor Association where he should continue to be a very popular target.
