With his continuous progression throughout his high school career, Stefan Cicic has developed into one of the top 2024 big men in all of Illinois. After a strong grassroots season with the Mac Irvin Fire, the 6’11” post continues to improve now during his junior season at Riverside Brookfield High School.
In his first year at Riverside Brookfield, Cicic is averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds a game to help them out to an 8-3 start to the season. “I really like RB. I love the staff and the school. It’s very well put together and the basketball program is great. Coach (Mike) Reingruber is a great coach,” Cicic said about his time so far playing his team. Cicic had spent his sophomore season at Notre Dame Prep.
While he has yet to receive a scholarship offer, a number of programs are recruiting him. One of these is Northern Iowa which he took a visit to back in October. “Northern Iowa was great,” he said about the recent trip to the Missouri Valley Conference school. “The coaches were very nice, it’s a great big school, lot of great curricular activities. The basketball program is very well put together and is good.”
At 6’11” with his strong build, Cicic is a true force in the paint. He has a great ability to overpower any opponent with his powerful size and strength. The junior is a legitimate back to the basket scorer who not only has good touch inside but can also spot up from the perimeter to knock down shots. For a player his size, he is a very agile post.
For the rest of his junior season, Cicic has a team and personal goal. He is looking for Riverside Brookfield to make it to sectionals as well as earn his first division one offer for himself.
