PLAYER OF THE YEAR – Kyler Marks
Marks was third in the Bay Conference in scoring (19 ppg) and first in rebounding (11.8 rpg) as a sophomore. The 6-foot-4 forward had a whopping 15 double-doubles last season as well.
BREAKOUT PLAYER – Tref Rademaker
Rademaker got better and better as the summer wore on. A high-upside, skilled, and versatile big man, the 6-foot-9 sophomore averaged 14 points and nine rebounds per game during his freshman season.
SURPRISE PLAYER – Logan Ramczyk
Xavier lost three All-Conference seniors from last season. That said, Ramczyk will take the reins and likely increase his production quite a bit. As a sophomore. the 6-foot-1 guard posted 7.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field.
PROJECTED STANDINGS
1. Seymour
2. Xavier
3. West De Pere
4. Menasha
5. New London
6. Shawano
7. Green Bay West
8. Green Bay East
THE FAVORITE – Seymour
The Thunder were 9-5 in league play last season and 16-10 overall. Six of their losses came by eight points or less. Seymour was led by youth with their top three scorers all underclassmen in 2023-24. In addition to Marks, the Thunder will feature sophomore forward Isaac Feske (11.8 ppg) and junior guard Xavier Salzman (10.3 ppg).
DARK HORSE – Xavier
Calling Xavier a dark horse feels odd as the Hawks have dominated the Bay Conference. Xavier loses three key seniors from last season, but there’s still enough left in the cupboard to keep them viable. Ramczyk and senior Luke Oelhafen (6.4 ppg) will move to the forefront this winter.
MOST IMPROVED – Menasha
The Bluejays were 6-8 in league play last season and 10-16 overall. However, this was a really balanced group that beat up on the bottom part of the conference, often by double digits. Menasha returns five players who averaged at least nine points per game.
