As more and more seniors make their college commitments, it’s time to look deeper at the 2027 class.
Blake Basich – 2027 – PG – Arrowhead
The game of Basich has continued to grow and that has become truer in this season. Basich is a true floor general with a great ability to create for others. That has been evident this season as he is currently averaging 7.3 assists per game for Arrowhead in addition to 12.6 points. While he is a shot maker with some range from three, he really excels with his passing, court vision, and all-around point guard tools.
Zion Braimah – 2027 – F – Pecatonica
In his junior season, the game of Braimah has taken major strides. As well to having a highly productive season, including a recent 29 point and 10 rebound game, the forward has a ton of tools for the next level. He is 6’7” with great athleticism in addition to a strong build. He is also a versatile player highlighted by his ability to defend nearly anyone on the floor
Sam Fait – 2027 – SG – Catholic Central
While Fait had a breakout sophomore season, he is taking his game to another level during his current junior season. He is one of the leading scorers in all of Wisconsin right now while averaging 29.3 points per game. Not only is a highly skilled scorer who can get it done in a variety of ways and create for himself but also has good positional size at 6’4” in addition to his athleticism.
Gus Johnson – 2027 – PF – DePaul Prep
While plenty of the attention on his talented DePaul Prep team has been on their loaded senior class, Johnson is not a player to miss. He already has good size standing at 6’8” with a solid frame in addition to playing with great energy. Johnson impressed versus Marist at the When Sides Collide Shootout this past weekend with his rebounding and defensive play. He was playing tough in the paint battling and not only blocked a shot inside but also showed some mobility for his size blocking a shot on the perimeter. Johnson has also shown some offensive abilities being able to shoot it from the outside.
Chris Retic – 2027 – SF – Golda Meir
Retic is having a breakout senior but is still flying under the radar. He is putting up a big stat line with 19.4 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 5.3 blocks per game. He stands at 6’6” along with great length and athleticism. As well to his physical tools, Retic is also a high energy wing forward along with some perimeter skills including being able to shoot it well from the outside.
