It was a strong performance by Brown Deer led by senior Codie Jones as well as several others. While Pewaukee made a couple of runs in the game playing without Tyler Tiutczenko, Brown Deer always had the answer and won it 68-58.
Codie Jones – 2026 – SG – Brown Deer
Right from the start of this game Jones showed his great scoring ability. On Brown Deer’s first possession of the game, the senior drilled a three apart of scoring 12 points in just the first 6 minutes of the game to build an early lead. He went on to score a game high 24 points in the victory. In his high scoring effort, Jones was getting it done from all three levels. He shot the ball at a high percentage hitting a trio of threes as well as a couple of mid-range jumpers. He was also able to get all the way to the rim using both his physicality and moves. The 6’3” two guard is such a skilled scorer and is one of the top available senior guards in the state.
Jayden Ragland – 2026 – PG – Brown Deer
Ragland is an incredibly quick and shifty point guard with tight handles who was consistently getting into the paint. He scored 9 points finishing well around the paint but was even more effective distributing it. The senior was key leading a run in the middle of the second half that pushed the game out of reach in the win. In this stretch, he scored 6 points along with a pair of assists and a steal. This stretch included flying in to steal a pass and then show his bounce with a dunk by the 6’ guard. The dunk was his 1000th career point and pushed the game to its largest lead of 18 to seal the win.
Jonah Schaefer – 2027 – PG – Pewaukee
The junior was a standout in this game with his point guard play. He plays strong with the ball in his hands and is a pass first point guard with good vision and is a quick decision maker. Both in the half court as well as in transition he was creating for others always looking to distribute it to collect 4 assists in the game. Schaefer made a few very impressive passes including a bounce pass through traffic to hit a roll man for an assist. He excelled during a stretch to start the second half leading a comeback attempt where in less than four minutes of play he scored 7 points including hitting a three as well to dishing out a couple of assists. He also grabbed 6 rebounds in the game.
Ben Schwerin – 2026 – G/F – Pewaukee
Over the past year, the 6’4” has proven his great outside shooting ability and that continued in this game. Even while coming off the bench, he led Pewaukee in scoring hitting five threes in the game. He caught fire in the final minutes of the game leading a comeback charge. In just the final three minutes of the game, Schwerin drilled four threes with his pure jumper while showing plenty of range.
