It was a dominant performance by Oosburg behind their senior duo of JJ Zavatchin and Cade Dirkse. While Lomira was able to stick in the game for the first few minutes, Oostburg quickly ran away with it. They were up 43-20 at the half and finished the game with a score of 73-42.

Jake Broeske – 2026 – C – Lomira

While he’s battled injuries, Broeske is back on the court this high school season and is not a player to forget in Wisconsin’s 2026 class. He led his team scoring 13 points in the game getting it done both inside and out. While he did hit a spot up three in the game showing a good form, Broeske was most effective posting up. In the game he scored four baskets while posting up as he has great size at 6’10”, good footwork, and finished well over his left shoulder. As he continues to return to full form from his injury, Broeske is a high upside big men with his size and versatile skills.

Cade Dirkse – 2026 – PG – Oostburg

Dirkse scored the first four points of the game and kept on scoring throughout the first half to have already totaled 15 points at the half. Even while scoring it a high rate, Dirkse was still effectively running the offense and creating for others. He showed his shooting ability hitting a deep three and a mid-range jumper but is a versatile scorer who also added a pair of baskets posting up inside and attacking all the way to the basket. As well to his offensive output, Dirkse is a true competitor on the floor. This was clear with his tough defensive play including drawing an offensive foul as well as attacking the glass rebounding very well as a guard. He also showed his athleticism flying over and getting up for a block inside and a transition dunk. Dirkse is committed to Hillsdale College.

JJ Zavatchin – 2026 – SF – Oostburg

The senior scored 16 points in the first half to build a 23 point at the break and kept on scoring early in the second half to put the game away and finish it with 31 points. He is a strong and physical forward that knows how to play. While he led the game in scoring his play was also crucial on the defensive side. Zavatchin is a strong finisher inside with multiple and one finishes inside as well to a couple of other finishes through contact. The senior also shot it at a high percentage from the outside hitting three threes and moved well without the ball around the interior to set himself up for easy baskets. He stands at 6’4” but plays much bigger inside on both ends either finishing or defending a 6’10” post effectively inside. The highly productive forward is committed to Bethel University.

Westin Zavatchin – 2028 – SF – Oostburg

The sophomore has shown great development over the past year. The wing forward has some size at 6’6” with great length in addition to a growing offensive game. This was shown with his outside shooting spotting up for threes as well as being able to put the ball on the floor. He was also a standout defensively being able to defend multiple positions effectively plus flying out to the perimeter to block a shot utilizing his length plus covering a ton of ground.
