In what was a tight game in the first half between Fremd matching up with Deerfield in this championship game. Fremd was able to run away with it in the second half and able to capture the Wheeling Hardwood Classic championship over Deerfield 58-36. Deerfield was without 6’9” Dartmouth commit Jake Pollack in the game.

Evan Nagler – 2026 – G – Deerfield

Nagler is a high IQ and well-rounded guard who knows how to play. The normally hot shooting guard didn’t have his shot falling in this game but still was able lead his team with 14 points. Nagler got off to a quick start scoring 8 points in the first quarter. He was very effective scoring around the paint, scoring on both drives and cuts as well as on a couple of put backs. The guard has some size at 6’3” and plays with toughness finishing as well as battling on the offensive glass versus larger opponents. The senior is committed to Case Western Reserve University.

Rafael Pinto – 2026 – SG – Fremd

Following a slow start to the game, Pinto played a large role in helping Fremd pull away in the third quarter. This included hitting a pair of threes in the run that pushed the game into double-digits in the victory. The sharpshooting two guard went 3-5 from the outside in the game to finish it with 13 points on 4-6 shooting from the field. The guard has great positional size at 6’5” and also made an impact with his versatile defensive play and passing with 3 assists.

Jordan Williams – 2026 – SF – Fremd

It was another sensational game in this tournament by Williams as he earned himself MVP of the Wheeling Hardwood Classic. He got off to a very quick start with 11 first quarter points playing very aggressively from the start attacking the basket. He was able to finish with a highly efficient 26 points while shooting 9-12 from the field, including hitting his only three-point attempt, plus going 7-8 from the free throw line. The 6’5” wing forward uses his physicality so effectively to get to his spots around the paint and finish everything. He plays right through defenders plus has good footwork to maneuver defenders around the interior. He finished the game with four and one plays. The Illinois State commits play was also crucial on the other side with some lock down defense on the perimeter.
