For the majority of the game, Waterford was in control. With a 16-point halftime deficit, Milwaukee Lutheran responded making a push early in the second half, cutting it to 2 points with 11 minutes to play, but Waterford responded and pulled away late to secure the 77–61 win knocking off previously undefeated Milwaukee Lutheran.
Xavier Allen - 2026 - PG - Milwaukee Lutheran
Allen showed why he is a steady presence at the point guard spot, finishing with 19 points while knocking down two threes. The 5’10 guard plays with excellent balance and pace with the ball in his hands. He consistently got into the paint off the dribble, using shifty change of speed moves to create advantages which allowed him to read the floor, finding the right balance between scoring and setting up teammates when the defense collapsed. His control of tempo and ability to generate quality looks stood out throughout the game.
Jayce Brechtl - 2026 - F - Waterford
Brechtl, a recent Carroll University (D3, WI) commit, delivered a strong interior performance, recording a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The 6’6 forward was perfect from two-point range (6-for-6), scoring efficiently with his back to the basket while also capitalizing on dump-offs and second-chance opportunities. His presence on the glass and physicality inside were felt throughout.
James Ferguson - 2027 - G - Milwaukee Lutheran
Ferguson impressed with his length, athleticism, and two-way activity, finishing with 14 points on the contest. The lanky 6’2 guard was most effective scoring in the mid-range and attacking the rim. Defensively, Ferguson was impactful at the point of attack and on the wing, using his length to pressure ball handlers and got in the passing lanes to create opportunities in transition. His tools and competitiveness continue to stand out in the 2027 class.
Caden Gustafson - 2026 - G - Waterford
Gustafson delivered another statement performance as the 6’3 guard and Northern Michigan (D2) commit finished with an efficient 35 points while shooting 5-of-9 from three and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. He consistently answered Milwaukee Lutheran runs with timely shot making, showing the ability to take over stretches of the game when his team needed it most. Gustafson scored it at all three levels and has a strong feel for playing both on and off the ball. Gustafson has great ability to read defensive coverages and can come off multiple screens into his shot making him a threat from anywhere. When Waterford needed it, Gustafson produced.
Colin Lepisto - 2026 - PG - Waterford
Lepisto brought toughness and composure to the point guard spot, controlling the tempo with his energy and feel. The crafty 5’10 guard finished with 12 points, 7 assists, and 4 steals, doing a strong job of setting up teammates while also making an impact defensively. His tenacity at the point of attack helped disrupt Milwaukee Lutheran’s rhythm throughout the game.
